Affogato al Caffè
Sicilia, CVA Fileno 2017
Grillo is a traditional Sicilian table wine that is making its presence known in Italy and beyond. Originally known for its use in the production of Marsala, Grillo is now being enjoyed for its own merits: a firm, ripe nose with tones of citrus and on the palate a rounded and depth followed by a nicely balanced finish.
Trentino, Lavis 2016
A young, but complex wine that possesses distinctive elegance & freshness. Pale yellow in color, with pleasant bouquet & fruity notes. Well balanced, full flavor.
Toscana, Cappella S. Andrea 2017
From Tuscany's famous towered hill town of San Gimignano since the Renaissance, Vernaccia has been considered one of Italy's oldest and most noble wines. This organic wine is fresh, delicate and has a fruity bouquet. Mineral notes give way to a slight almond aftertaste.
Piemonte, Ottosoldi 2017
From Gavi in Italy's northwestern Piemonte region, a dry, balanced wine. Shiny straw yellow color, with a floral scent with notes of ripe fruit.
Veneto, Adami Garbel Prosecco, Valdobbiadene 2017
From the Adami family vineyards in the heart of Itay's Prosecco region, this is a dry, fruity prosecco. Garbel is an ancient, local dialect word which describes this prosecco's freshness and pleasant lightness.
Emilia, Cleto Chiarli Pruno Nero 2017
Crisp and fresh sweetness, this delightful, dry Lambrusco is a far cry from its very sad cousin some might remember from the 70s, Riunite. This Lambrusco is refreshing wine that pairs well with the traditional foods of the Emilia region in Italy. Not to mention pizza!
Aglianico del Vulture
Basilicata, Cantine del Notaio "L'atto" 2014
Aglianico is an ancient Greek grape varietal, particularly associated with Italy's Campania region. this Aglianico, however, hales from the neighboring region of Basilicata. "Vulture" refers to the region near the extinct Vulture volcano where the grape is cultivated, giving the wine its rich fertile taste. It is extremely drinkable, with fruity aromas and spicy hints.
Piemonte, Saracco 2016
From the renowned Saracco winemakers in the Langhe region of Piemonte, this pinot is a fruity and complex wine, soft and round, with hints of berries and vanilla.
Veneto, Tommasi "Rafael" Valpolicella Classico 2016
Rich ruby red in color, a blend of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, it has hints of dried spices, leather and cherry. Aged 15 months in oak, making it nicely balanced and pleasantly tannic.
Molise, Campi Valerio Calidio Rosso del Molise 2014
While Montepulciano is traditionally associated with Italy's Abruzzo region, we're excited to share another from Molise. Here we have a full-bodied, rich and dry wine with good acidity and tannins. In a word, delizioso.
Primitivo del Salento
Puglia, 12 e Mezzo Varvaglione 2014
From Salento peninsula, Puglia, a.k.a. the "heel" of Italy separating the Adriatic and Ionian seas, this wine, made of 100% primitivo grapes, is beautifully and richly colored. It presents big flavor in a very drinkable wine that will pair well with Munno's pizza and pasta, and especially richer meat dishes like our Genovese Napoletana.
